Welcome! I’m Jeannie, a mental health therapist and Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in working with kids, teens, young adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression and adjustment issues.
I’m so glad you’ve found my website and are considering therapy—taking this step is a big deal, and it’s the first step toward meaningful change. Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming, especially when you're going through a difficult time. A strong therapeutic connection is at the heart of effective therapy, and my goal is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported.
I specialize in therapy for young people navigating anxiety, depression, and life’s challenges. Using evidence-based treatments, I help kids, teens, and young adults manage symptoms and build resilience.
My approach to modern therapy is flexible, collaborative, and tailored to fit your unique needs. Modern therapy recognizes that mental health isn’t one-size-fits-all—it’s about meeting you where you are, whether that means processing emotions, developing real-world coping skills, or adjusting to life’s transitions in a way that works for you. Sessions may incorporate a mix of traditional talk therapy, mindfulness techniques, and practical strategies to help you feel more in control and empowered in your daily life.
I support young clients through the many ups and downs of growing up, and I help young adults who feel stressed, overwhelmed, or uncertain about what’s next. I also work with new and expecting parents who are struggling with perinatal mood disorders or simply need support while adjusting to parenthood. No matter what stage you’re in, therapy can provide the tools and insight to help you move forward with confidence.
I work with clients experiencing a variety of challenges, including:
Adjustment issues
Family conflict
Low self-esteem
Relationship issues
Grief & Loss
Self-harm behaviors
Drug use/abuse
Bullying
Trauma
Together we’ll explore what brought you to therapy in the first place, but we’ll also go beyond that. You’ll learn new ways to understand and solve your problems and develop healthy coping mechanisms so that you’ll be equipped to care for your mental well-being in the long term.
What To Expect From Therapy
My approach to therapy is personalized and flexible, not a one-size-fits-all approach. I combine goal-oriented therapy with evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). These therapeutic tools will help you develop coping strategies to manage mental health challenges and enhance emotional well-being.
I view our time together as valuable and intentional. While I provide space for self-exploration, I focus on equipping you with practical, real-world skills you can use immediately and in the future. Together, we’ll identify the most effective strategies for your unique situation and practice implementing them so they become lasting tools for managing stress, anxiety, and other challenges.
As we build our therapeutic relationship, you’ll find that I am caring, compassionate, and nonjudgmental—but also straightforward and honest. Creating a strong connection is a top priority for me, and it’s essential that you feel supported, understood, and empowered throughout our work together. My ultimate goal is to help you feel better, lead a fulfilling life, and prevent anxiety or depression from holding you back.
For Parents – I work with teens to help them navigate the difficulties of adolescence, including anxiety, depression, and major life transitions.
For Young Adults – My therapy services are designed to support you through life transitions, relationship challenges, mental health struggles, and everything in between.
With my experience working in hospital settings with individuals of all ages, I’ve developed skills to help people in crisis and guide them through some of life’s most difficult times. While I can assist with severe symptoms of anxiety and depression, if you are currently in crisis, please call 911 or visit your nearest emergency room.
Whatever you’re facing, I’m here to help. Let’s work together to create lasting change.
